G8 Education Limited (ASX: GEM) is a leading provider of quality care and education facilities across Australia and Singapore through a range of well-respected and recognised brands. G8 Education and Idea 11 have a long-standing relationship, achieving a full IT transformation into AWS, as well as other innovation initiatives that are empowering their growing business.
The Problem
Our customer, G8 Education, had a simple objective - take an arduous, manual process and transform it into a slick, automated operation. G8 Education’s communications team implemented a SaaS application to facilitate communication across their large and distributed organisation - Vision6. Unfortunately, the application did not have the functionality to import and synchronise contact data as an automated process. Due to the scale of the organisation - thousands of staff across over 500 locations - manual intervention was not an option and Idea 11 were engaged to remove this roadblock.
The Solution
Within the confines of a tight deadline, Idea 11 worked closely with G8 Education to establish their requirements, agree on a solution and rapidly deploy it into production. Using AWS services and the SaaS application API, the contact data synchronisation was integrated with Active Directory as the single source of truth to keep the solution simple and efficient. G8 Education’s objective was achieved within one DevOps sprint, demonstrating how business problems can be solved quickly with the combination of an award-winning AWS Advanced Consulting Partner using the power of AWS.
Although the solution achieved simplicity and was delivered rapidly, Idea 11 ensured quality was not compromised - best practices were followed including automated deployment, version control, error handling, logging, monitoring and documentation. The solution leveraged native AWS services for serverless integration with Active Directory.
